Abdullah to contest presidential polls

KABUL (PAN): National Front of Afghanistan finally on Wednesday nominated Dr Abdullah Abdullah, former foreign minister as their candidate for forthcoming presidential election.

Spokesman of NFA, Syed Fazil Aqa Sancharaki told Pajhwok Afghan News the party today approved Dr Abdullah Abdullah as their candidate for election.

He denied speculations of inter-party divisions and added that Abdullah was a consensus candidate.

He said Dr Abdullah had great experience and knowledge about the different issues of Afghanistan.

So far 26 candidates have nominated themselves for next presidential election, scheduled on 20 of August.
