Blast wounds 5 in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN):  A bomb blast injured five civilians in the capital of southern Kandahar province, the governors office said on Tuesday.

The blast took place at 8pm on Monday in Hazrat Baba area of 1st police district of Kandahar city, a statement from the governor's office said.

Five civilians were wounded in the explosion and were taken to Mirwais civil hospital, the statement added.

The explosion targeted employees of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Afghanistans intelligence agency, said an eyewitness, Hamidullah, however he had no information about casualties.
