Taekwondo team returns home

KABUL (PAN): The national taekwondo team returned home from from an international contest with eight silver and two bronze medals on Thursday.

At the 15-nation Asian Games, held in Vietnam on July 25 and 26, Afghanistan finished seventh, said Ahmad Shoaib Rahmani, president of the Afghanistan International Taekwondo Federation (AITF).

He told seven Afghan athletes took part in the games. A special ceremony was held at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) office, where Director Zahir Aghbar awarded the athletes with medals.
