CHARIKAR): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a girl in the central province of Parwan, where the body of a boy was found, officials said on Monday.
The 12-year old girl was killed when armed men stormed a house in the Ezatkhel area of Jabalus Saraj district on Sunday night, the district chief said.
Aqa Shirin Nadim told Pajhwok Afghan News police had launched an investigation into the murder, but no one had so far been detained.
Charikar Civil Hospital Director Abdul Khalil Farhangi said the girl was shot in the head. The victim’s neighbour, Mohammad Sarwar, said the attackers managed to escape.
Separately, the body of a boy was found in the Hofyan area on the outskirts of Charikar City, the provincial capital, on Monday, said the police chief, Brig. Gen. Sher Ahmad Muldani.
Unidentified gunmen had abducted the boy a month back. The abductors killed and buried him in an orchard, he said. The security personnel took the body to hospital, but none of his relatives had so far arrived to collect it.
