FARAHCITY (PAN): Two policemen were injured in a roadside bombing in the western province of Farah, where security personnel seized 298 kilograms of drugs, officials said on Tuesday.
The blast ripped through a police vehicle in Pusht-i-Rod district on Monday evening, police chief, Brig. Gen. Syed Mohammad Roshandil, told Pajhwok Afghan News. As a result, two policemen were injured and they were taken to a hospital, the official said, adding their condition is stated to be stable.
There was no claim of responsibility for the blast.
Separately, security forces detained a man and recovered 298 kilograms of opium from his possession in Lash Wa Jawin district.
The drugs were recovered as part of a counternarcotics operation by police over the past two days in Lash Jawin district, the counter narcotics department head, Sher Ahmad Farahi, said.
