GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Two mobile phone towers were destroyed by unindentified militants in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.
The towers in Shahbaz and Garhi areas, close to the provincial capital, were destroyed late on Monday night, the provincial police cheif, Col. Zarawar Zahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The towers belonged to Roshan and MTN companies, and were destroyed at midnight, said Abdul Kareem, an area resident.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, claimed respossibility, saying security forces used the mobile towers to chase fighters.
