BAMYAN (PAN Department in central Bamyan province, an official said on Wednesday.
The facility would enable the department to identify bacteria and other viruses in water with the help of the system, a PRT official Dr. Zaki told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The system having all necessary equipment was installed at the cost of more than $100,000 (4.9 million afghanis), he said.
Governor Habiba Surabi thanked the PRT and called for more assistance with health sector. The system would be very effective in identifying germs and bacteria in potable water, she added.
Most of patients brought to the civil hospital suffered from water-borne diseases due to unhygienic water in residential areas, acting public health department head, Dr. Mahr Ali Hussaini, said. In the past, the health department had no such facility, he said.
