KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Armed militants have killed three civilians on charges of spying for the government in southern Kandahar province, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
The civilians, killed in the Boja village of Shah Wali Kot district, had no links to the government, Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Javed Faisal, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the killings. However, he insisted the victims had no government jobs.
Also in Shah Wali Kot, three fighters were killed during a police operation. Police or civilians suffered no casualties during the raid, Gen. Razzaq said.
