KABUL): President Hamid Karzai discussed with British and French leaders issues concerning the Afghan-led peace process and counterterrorism efforts and relations, the Presidential Palace said on Friday.
French President François Hollande phoned Karzai on Thursday and discussed with the Afghan leader matters of mutual interest and the situation in the region, the Palace said in a statement.
Hollande said his country was committed to strengthening relations with Afghanistan.
In his telephonic contact, British Prime Minister David Cameron told President Karzai that Pakistan‘s role in the Afghan reconciliation was crucial. He called for accelerated efforts at making peace, the statement said.
