SHARAN (PAN): Three militants and a border policeman have been killed during a clash and an explosion in the southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Friday.
A convoy of security forces struck a roadside bomb in the Goshta area of Wazikhwa district late on Thursday, the provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Dawlat Khan Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News.
As a result of the explosion, a border guard was killed and a police vehicle destroyed, Zadran said. Later, a clash erupted between the security personnel and the Taliban in the same area.
The police chief said three fighters were killed in the gunbattle and their bodies were collected by police.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the insurgents had killed six security men in bomb and gun attacks in Goshta.
