KABUL Cricket Board (ACB).
The Office of Administrative Affairs (OAA) said on Tuesday said the Cabinet meeting was also attended by the presidential advisor on tribal affairs, ACB President Shahzada Massoud and Kabul Mayor Muhammad Yunus Nawandesh.
A statement from OAA said the two officials presented before the Council of Ministers the issue of permanently giving the ACB the six and a half acre of land, on which the Kabul International Cricket Stadium has been built. The land belongs to the Kabul Municipality.
The Cabinet decided on the land to be transitioned to the ACB in recognition of the national cricket squad’s achievements, including earning a berth in the 2015 World Cup.
The ACB said the municipality’s land had previously been allotted to the cricket regularity authority for a decade.
Massoud said the stadium, where the ACB is headquartered, cost $2 million to complete, saying President Karzai and ministers praised the ABC performance and achievements at the Cabinet meeting.
He thanked the government, the Cabinet and the municipality for permanently allotting the 6.5 acres of land to ACB.
