In an interview with The Express News, Paul said the US desired stability, prosperity and safety in the region. Pakistan’s relations with India and Afghanistan would improve gradually, he added.
He added that good relations between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan are a prerequisite for economic development of all three countries and are also in the interest of the US.
While expressing serious concerns at violent attacks on journalists and violations of human rights in Pakistan, the spokesman said, dismissing the impression that American priorities would change after NATO’s pullout from Afghanistan.
