CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): At least 25 homes have been damaged in flash floods in the Masood Township on the outskirts of Chairkar, the capital of central Parwan province, locals saidon Sunday.
Tens of people complained their houses had been damaged by the overnight floods following continuous downpour.
Sayed Aqa, a resident whose house collapsed due to heavy floods, said around 25 families of the locality had migrated to Charikar and other areas.
The flooding caused no life loss but washed away several houses, he said, adding floodwaters gushed into the town, playing havoc with their properties.
The affected individuals asked the government to compensate them and divert the floodwaters from populated areas.
Parwan Governor Abdul Basir Salangi said the affected people had illegally built houses in the locality while the township had been constructed under a proper government plan.
