KABUL (Pajhwok): Central Bamyan was declared a grade-two province based on a suggestion from the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) and its approval by the president.
The IDLG said the decision was taken by the presidential office following frequent calls from influential figures from Bamyan. It will help bring positive changes to the living conditions of residents.
Mohammad Akbari, a lawmaker from Bamyan, told Pajhwok Afghan News sometimes ago local authorities and influential figures had urged IDLG to declare Bamyan as a grade-two province.
