Intelligence agent killed in Badghis ambush

QALA-I-Naw (Pajhwok): One National Directorate of Security (NDS) agent was killed and five others were wounded in a militant ambush in western Badghis province on Tuesday, an official said.

The attack took place in Karkh district on the Badghis-Herat Highway at 8am when the intelligence personnel were on their way from Qala-i-Naw — the provincial capital — to Herat, the official said on condition of anonymity.

After the hour-long clash, which left one militant dead and two others wounded, the intelligence operatives returned to Qala-i-Naw, the source added.
