KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai’s special representative on reform and good governance Ahmad Zia Massoud on Monday formally assumed office, the Presidential Palace said.
A statement from the palace quoted Ahmadzai as calling Massoud a determined and patriotic person, who was keen on working for Afghanistan’s stability.
The president offered his best wishes to Massoud on assuming his job, hoping that his work would help bring peace and stability to the country.
During his election campaign, Ahmadzai had promised giving the chief executive officer post to Massoud, who did not insist on the slot for the sake of the formation of the unity government.
