WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): America’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Dan Feldman has arrived in Islamabad for talks with top Pakistani officials on bilateral and regional issues.
On the first of his two-day visit, the envoy met Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and the two discussed bilateral ties and issues relating to the region and Afghanistan.
Both sides shared their resolve to improve and strengthen relations. Feldman is to meet civilian and military officials as well as representatives from civil society during his stay in Pakistan, the US State Department said prior to his departure.
Feldman will leave for Beijing on Oct 30 for a two-day visit. In China, Feldman will be joining a US delegation to participate in the Heart-of-Asia conference — an important opportunity to discuss efforts to expand political, security and economic support for Afghanistan.
Special Representative Feldman will also conduct bilateral meetings with key Chinese counterparts to exchange views on the situation in Afghanistan.
