KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least five civilians were killed and as many wounded in two separate bomb explosions in southern Kandahar province on Thursday, officials said.
Four civilians were killed when a bomb went off in Kandahar City this noon, the governor’s spokesman, Samim Khpalwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said police had reached the scene in the Chawni area in jurisdiction of the first police district and had started their investigation. The nature of the blast was yet to be known.
A fifth civilian was killed and five others injured when a bomb planted on a hand-cart exploded in the Spin Boldak town near the Pakistani border. Khpalwak said in the blast took place in Chawk area.
