MAIDAN SHAHR/KABUL (Pajhwok): The head of Ulama Council of central Maidan Wardak province, his son and a body guard were wounded in Kabul blast on Sunday, the governor’s spokesman of the central province said.
Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News that the bomb went-off in front of Ibn-e-Sina Emergency Hospital in the capital Kabul on Sunday, head of the hospital said.
Maulvi Aziz-u-Rehman, his son and his body suffered injuries in the blast, he said, adding that they were about to leave for Maidan Shahar when they came under attack.
A magnet bomb was attached to his vehicle, which ripped through the vehicle but doctors said he was in stable condition, he added. The government had deputed three security officials on his duty.
Rehman earlier survived three attempts on his life. Earlier, an official of the hospital told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion hit a police vehicle parked outside the hospital.
Driver of the vehicle and two other passersby were among the fatalities who were being treated in the Ibn-e-Sina hospital, he added. He however, said one of the critically wounded had been referred to Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital.
Hashmat Stanekzai, spokesman of Kabul police, confirmed the casualities as a result of the blast and said that the bomb hit the vehicle of Maidan Wardak police.
No group so far claimed credit for the attack.
