GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Police on Thursday claimed killing five insurgents and injuring four others during a clash in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province.
The clash broke out in the Ibrahimkhel area on Thursday noon and lasted one and a half hours, Ghazni police chief Brig. Gen. Zarawar Zahid told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said reinforcements had reached the area before five militants, including a notorious commander, Sabir alias Akrama, were killed and another four injured during the clash.
The dead bodies remained on the battlefield, he said, adding that the police stayed unharmed during the skirmish.
There has been word from the Taliban about the clash in Andar town.
