ANA soldier among 4 dead in Nimroz clash

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier and three insurgents were killed and four others wounded in a clash in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said.

Col. Mohammad Zarif Behsudwal, a senior official at 215th Maiwand Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clashes occurred in Kach Satar locality and Delaram district on Sunday afternoon.

He said an army soldier was killed while three Taliban insurgents were killed and four other wounded.

According to Behsudwal the insurgents had gathered in the area and were preparing to mount attack on security outposts.

Qari Yosuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, said two ANA soldiers had been killed in the clashes and one more wounded.

Meanwhile, a policewoman was wounded after unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at her.

An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the policewoman named Sahar was attacked while she was on her way home from office.

The source assured of Sahar’s stable condition in hospital.
