6 tribal elders wounded in Khost roadside bombing

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Six tribal elders were wounded in a roadside bombing in the Ismailkhel and Mandozai district of southeastern Khost province, officials said on Wednesday.

The blast occurred when the tribal elders were on their way to a gathering in support of security personnel in Khost City, the district chief, Mohammad Younus Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Explosives attached to a motorbike were detonated through a remote-controlled device as the elders’ car was passing by, said a resident of Warzi area of the district, Mohammad Shafiq.

Meanwhile, the Khost governor condemned the bomb attack, promising all-out efforts to arrest the perpetrator as soon as possible. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the bombing.
