KABUL to shun violence ahead of talks with the government in Kabul to make the peace process a success.
Aziz told reporter on Wednesday senior officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan, the United States and China would meet in Islamabad in the first half of next month to revive the reconciliation dialogue between Kabul and the Taliban
Earlier, Javed Faisal, deputy spokesman for the Chief Executive Office, told Pajhwok Afghan News the quadrilateral meeting would be held in Kabul.
Aziz said the Afghan government wanted the reconciliation process to begin and violence to cease. Violence in Afghanistan has spiked since the security forces took full responsibility from Nato after their combat mission ended last December.
The advisor expressed deep concerns over the growth of Islamic State (IS) insurgency in Afghanistan and termed its existence a threat for Pakistan.
Representatives from the four countries who met in Islamabad on the sideline of Heart of Asia- Istanbul Process Conference had agreed to re-launch the peace process.
Pakistan had also promised to act against elements refusing to shun violence.
The first round of talks between the government and the Taliban was held in July. But the process collapsed after the news of the death of Taliban’s supreme leader Mullah Omar was broke.
