FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Seven Taliban rebels were killed and 13 others wounded during a predawn clash with security forces in Zebak district of northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Thursday.
Ahmad Navid Fortan, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash erupted after the militants stormed security forces’ check-posts in the district at around 3:30pm.
He added seven Taliban militants were killed and 13 others and two security forces suffered injuries in the clash that continued into Thursday morning.
The Taliban attacked the Zebak district from Warduj district which remained under their control, he said.
