FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A senior revenue department official and his bodyguard were killed by unknown gunmen in the capital of western Ghor province, local officials said on Monday.
Deputy police chief Col. Abdul Hadi Chalghori told Pajhwok Afghan News the slain official, the revenue department manager, was also a former member of the provincial council.
He was killed along with his bodyguard by three unknown motorcyclists at around 4:00pm in Ferozkoh, Chalghori said.
The three riders shot dead the two on the spot near the recruitment centre. No one had been so far arrested in connection with the incident as an investigation went on.
An eyewitness, Abdul Khaliq, said two policemen at the scene didn’t react to the attackers who were able to escape.
