JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A car suicide bomber targeted American forces in the Bati Kot district of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, but caused no casualties, an official said.
The attacker used a Suzuki model car in the attack that occurred in the afternoon, the governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the suicide bomber targeted a military vehicle of US forces on a patrol in Barikab area of Bati Kot district.
Only the bomber was killed in the blast and the foreign forces suffered no casualties, Khogyani added.
Bati Kot District chief Haji Ghalib confirmed the incident and said no one was harm in the attack and only the vehicle of foreign forces was partially damaged.
The media office of US forces in Kabul confirmed the incident, but provided no details.
No militant group has come forward to claim the attack.
