11 of a family killed in Logar roadside blast

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Eleven people of a family were killed when a Saracha type vehicle they were traveling in hit a roadside bomb in the Mohamad Agha district of central Logar province on Friday, an official said.

Governor Spokesman Saleem Saleh told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened this afternoon near the Zarghaoon Shahr area.

Five children, as many women and a man were killed in the blast, he added.

Saleh claimed militants planted the mine, but rebels have not yet spoken about the incident.

Mohammad Aziz, the resident of locality, confirmed the incident and said the blast was powerful.
