MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Twelve people were killed and 14 others wounded in a traffic accident in the Alishang district of eastern Laghman province on Monday, a statement from the governor house said.
“The accident occurred this afternoon in Gonpal area when a passenger coach skidded from the road and overturned,” the statement said.
Women and children were among the dead and wounded people.
The provincial government expressed regret over the loss of lives and directed hospital authorities to utilise all available resources and ensure the speedy recovery of those injured.
It is pertinent to mention that such traffic accidents occur due to the dilapidated roads and reckless driving.
