Autumn anti-polio drive kicks off in Nimroz

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): A second round of the autumn anti-polio vaccination campaign kicked off in southwestern Nimroz province on Sunday, targeting over 100,000 children, the governor said.

Governor Mohammad Sami said 1,000 volunteers would administer polio drops and anthelmintic medicine children aged between two to five years.

He asked security officials and common people to cooperate with the volunteers in reaching out to children with the crucial drops.

Nimroz has been polio-free in recent years.

Separately, two policemen were arrested and referred to the appellant court of Nimroz province over bribery charges, said Abdul Sammad Barak, a military attorney officer.
