KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Hezb-i-Islami insurgents to reconcile with the Afghan government under no foreign pressure or interference.
Hekmatyar was addressing a gathering in a Football Ground in the capital of southeastern Khost province.
Thousands of people listened as Hekmatyar said if the Taliban agreed to reconcile, his party was ready to support all their legitimate demands.
Hekmatyar said the war was ongoing in 25 provinces of the country and had turned into ethnic conflicts in some northern provinces.
“In Ghor province, two tribes the Bayan and Pahlawan are fighting against each other. One of the ethnic groups is backed by foreign forces and the other is forced to migrate with families.”
Meanwhile, Hekmatyar asked all political parties to completely partake in the upcoming Wolesi Jirga and district council elections.
The HIA leader preferred party-based elections otherwise the upcoming polls would give birth to a weak government and a parliament the incumbent one which he called “a market of sale and purchase.”
“Elections should be held without any postponement and within the tenure of the unity government. Changes mustn’t occur to electoral commissions because it will further delay the polls.”
Hekmatyar also said no one would be allowed to undermine the incumbent government unless it completed its term. “Elections should be used as a tool for getting out of the crisis.”
The HIA leader, while referring to the Zadran tribe of Loya Paktia, said the tribe had been deprived of participation in the Afghan government due to Jalaluddin Haqqani, leader of the Haqqani Network.
“It might be because Mualvi Jalaluddin Haqqani belongs to Zadran tribe, who had fought against the US and the US is now taking revenge from the tribe.”
About the US recognition of Jaruslam as the capital of Israel, Hekmatyar said it was the launch of a new war.
He said over the past several decades, all wars in the world had been ongoing in Islamic countries and Afghanistan’s war was being transferred to Iraq and Palestine.
