LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Several people were feared killed and at least 30 others were wounded in a car bomb explosion targeting a security convoy in Helmand province on Tuesday.
The blast ripped through the convoy of the Public Order Police in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, at about 5:30pm.
The governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak, said 29 people, mostly civilians, were wounded in the blast that killed several others. He had no exact figures for the dead.
Eyewitnesses in front of the Emergency-run hospital in Lashkargah said the casualty toll was higher and the victims included women and children.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
