Contracts approved for higher edu ministry worth 331m afs

KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has approved two contracts worth 331 million afghanis, a statement from the Presidential Palace’s media office said on Monday.

The NPC met under President Ashraf Ghani’s chairmanship on Sunday evening and discussed and approved two new contracts to purchase diesel, petrol, gas and oil needed by the Ministry of Higher Education.

The meeting also approved a procurement contract with Kazakhstani Explore Tex (ET) company for a 20 gigabyte internet bandwidth.

The meeting was presented a report about domestic production firms, which was welcomed by the NCP members.

After hearing the report, President Ghani said domestic production firms of the seven zones should be further discussed in the upcoming meeting of the High Economy Council.

The National Procurement Commission (NPC) also issued necessary guidelines to the Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs about transit service and food facilities to pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

The NPC also canceled a procurement contract for construction work of the 100 bed hospital in southern Ghazni province.
