KABUL’s teenage spin sensation Rashid Khan will shine in Test cricket just as he did in T-20 events.
Kane Williamson, speaking to journalists after the IPL final in Mumbai on Sunday, extolled the 19-year-old leg spinner as “the full package”.
Despite his remarkable bowling in most of IPL encounters, Rashid Khan’s team Sunrisers Hyderabad was thrashed in the by Chennai Super Kings in the final.
“He’s a world-class player. We’ve seen that in this format,” Williamson was quoted as saying by AFP, “He’s a world-class player. We’ve seen that in this format.”
Afghanistan are due to play their debut Test against India in Bangalore in June. Khan had the talent to succeed in the five-day game, the New Zealand captain believed.
“It’s great that he’s going to be playing some Test cricket and I think (it) is a challenge for anyone, but an enjoyable challenge because he is right up there with the top spinners in the game,” he added.
