MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Eight people were wounded as a result of an explosion in the capital of northern Faryab province on Wednesday, officials said.
Police said the blast took place inside a shop in Maimana, the provincial capital in the morning. The attack is currently under investigation.
Public Health Director Dr. Naeem Masoom said the injured were evacuated to Emergency Hospital. Two of the wounded, including a child, are in critical condition.
Haji Mohammad Naeem, the shopkeeper who sustained injury in the blast, said: “A woman entered and said she wants to print birthday cards and put a bag in my shop.
“The woman told me she wound return once the cards are printed. Soon after she left, the explosion happened,” the shopkeeper said
