MAIMANA (Pajhwok): The Taliban on Monday killed a tribal elder in the Khawaja Sabz Posh district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said.
Police Spokesman Abdul Karim Yoresh said the Taliban taken tribal elder Momen Arab and his colleague from the Maimana-Khawaja Sabz Posh way on Sunday and killed him this morning.
Ahmad Fawad Zare, another local elder, said Arab was the representative of around 3,000 families in the district.
“The Taliban beheaded Arab with knife and axe and did no mercy on him,” he said.
The Taliban, have not yet spoken about the incident.
