NPC approves 10 contracts worth 2.1b afghanis

KABU (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has approved ten contracts worth 2.1 billion afghanis and ordered assessment of the Interior Ministry’s contracts, a statement said Monday.

President Ashraf Ghani presided over the NPC meeting in his office on Sunday evening, the statement from the Presidential Palace said.

The meeting discussed 16 contracts and after discussion, approved ten of them worth 2.1 billion afghanis, the statement added.

The meeting approved a procurement contract for shifting 4000 metric tons of wheat from the Torkham port to storages in 11 provinces and as well to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MoAIL) central’s storage.

A contract for constructing of a 12.509 kilometer road from Hijrat village to Jalalabad and another contract for construction of the second part of the road from Shorabak of Spinboldak were approved.

The NPC also okayed a contract for construction of the Patola road (2. 760 kilometers) belonging to the Kabul municipality.

The meeting also approved a contract for 15 items for the capital and provincial hostels of the ministry of education.

Other contracts the meeting approved were about preparing deep storages for Khash district of northeastern Badakhshan province and preparing the Salang highway from Chokk village to Pul-i-Farishtagan (around 930. 23 kilometers) till Baghlan province.

Two more contracts were about extending the Noori Fiber Optic project from Wakhan district of Badakhshan to China’s border based on government to government contract and the second for constructing of four school buildings related to the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing.
