Afghan NSA in New Delhi amid peace push

KABUL (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib has arrived in New Delhi, the Indian capital, on a three-day official visit for talks on bilateral cooperation, an official said on Thursday.

National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Tariq Aryun told Pajhwok Afghan News Mohib was visiting New Delhi at India’s formal invitation.

Without going into details, he said the Afghan NSA was expected to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation with Indian officials.

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi in a statement said NSA Mohib had arrived there for a three-day visit.

Mohib is visiting India amid increased efforts by regional countries and the United States to find a negotiated end to the Afghanistan conflict, now 18-year-old.

US special representative for reconciliation in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad is expected to visit India next week for talks on the Afghan peace process.
