KABUL member who insulted a police officer in capital Kabul would be investigated through legal channels.

Basir Ahmad Mujahid, spokesman of 101 Asmayee Police Zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Wolesi Jirga member stopped police officers from checking her vehicle in Charahi Massoud square in Kabul on Sunday.

He said maintaining security, creating a safe environment for people and fighting crimes were responsibilities of police and that was why they had been ordered to take action against suspicious activities.

Police were unaware who was in the vehicle carrying a parliament member when they stopped it for checking, but the MP wrathfully reacted to the police move, he said.

‘Parwin Durrani angrily got off from her vehicle and stopped the police from searching her armored car that also lacked ownership documents, after a verbal abuse, she slapped a police officer in his face,” he said.

Pajhwok tried to contact Parwin Durrani, who represents nomads in the lower house, but failed.
