KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani and top security officials on Tuesday held discussions on upcoming counterinsurgency operations and the overall security situation in the country.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib, Interior Minister Masood Andrabi, Minister of Defence Asadullah Khalid, spymaster Masoum Stanikzai and Dr. Fazal Fazli Mahmood a senior advisor to the president, attended the meeting.
Presidential spokesman Haroon Chakhansouri told Pajhwok Afghan News the top security officials presented Ghani a detailed report on the security environment and plans for upcoming operations.
Chakhansouri added Ghani directed the officials to ensure security in the country and protection of the people and their properties.
