No condition for performing Hajj, Umrah: Saudi Arabia

MAKKAH (Pajhwok): Saudi Arabia minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammad Saleh has reiterated there is no condition to impose on any Muslim coming only to perform Hajj and Umra rituals in peace.

He said all Muslims around the world have the right to perform Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi government has no condition to impose on Muslims coming for the two Islamic pilgrimages.

Talking at a press conference on the sidelines of a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Makkah, Dr. Saleh said his government provided all needed services and facilities to pilgrims regardless of their language, culture and region.

Saleh said the kingdom had started a railways project connecting Makkah with Jeddah and Medina cities of the country to facilitate pilgrims in their movements.

In response to a question, he said the quota for pilgrims was specified for countries according to their populations and there were no special privileges for any country in this regard.

He rejected mixing politics with the pilgrimage and said politics had no role in Hajj affairs.
