TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): At least five policemen have been killed in a Taliban attack in Gizab district of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Saturday.
Lalai, district police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants staged coordinated attack on security check-posts from Khalj area late on Friday night.
He said five policemen were killed in the overnight clash lasted for several hours. The insurgents also suffered casualties but the exact figure was not known, he added.
Taliban have not yet commented about the overnight attack.
