PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The first Afghan Transit Trade cargo containing 15,000 tonnes of chemical fertiliser is set reach Pakistan’s Gwadar deep-sea port on Sunday.

The Ministry of Commerce and the Federal Bureau of Revenue have cleared the Afghan cargo at the Gwadar International Terminal, says a media report.

According to The News, trade related infrastructure at the port is ready to handle bulk cargoes to and from Afghanistan.

Bulk cargoes imported through Gwadar for onward transit to Afghanistan will be transported in containers of international specifications.

The number of cargoes under Afghan transit trade increased 44 percent to 93,732 containers in 2018-19 from 60,516 containers in 2017-18.
