Kabul knows Berlin supports Afghan peace bid: NSA

KABUL National Security Council (NSC) on Monday said Afghanistan’s experience showed Germany supported the peace process without personal or political concerns.

NSC spokesman Kabir Haqmal told Pajhwok Afghan News that Germany has started efforts at arranging intra-Afghan dialogue.

“Besides the peace process, Germany also supports other fields without any personal or political concerns, this is what the Afghan government knows,” he said.

Markus Potzel, Germany’s special representative for Afghanistan, talked about these issues during a meeting with National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib on Sunday, he said.

Mohib provided information about the Afghan government’s seven-article peace proposal to the German envoy and appreciated Germany’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Potzel said his country was ready for any type of cooperation towards ensuring peace in Afghanistan.

The Germany’s special envoy for Afghanistan also met with President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and many other government officials over the last few days.
