KABUL (Pajhwok): A US military convoy came under suicide attack in central Logar province on Tuesday but information about casualties was not immediately available.
The incident happened on the the Kabul-Paktia highway at around 11am when a car bomb exploded near the convoy close to a military base . Police confirmed the bombing.
Meanwhile, the US military said: “A vehicle-borne IED targeted a US convoy in Logar . Only the VBIED driver was killed. No US or Coalition service members were wounded or killed. We are investigating the incident.”
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast, which came the day the Afghan government confirmed a prisoner exchange deal with the Taliban.
Three senior militant leaders would be swapped for a US citizen and an Australian, President Ashraf Ghani told reporters.
