District police chief killed in Ghazni bomb blast

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Local security officials on Tuesday said the police chief for Rashidan district of southern Ghazni province was killed in a roadside bombing.

Ahmad Khan Sirat, provincial police spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News that 2nd Lt. Amanullah Ibrahimi was on his way to Jaghato district when his HUMVEE vehicle hit by the bomb.

He said that Ibrahimi was killed and two policemen were injured in the incident.

A clash between the Taliban and Afghan forces also happened in the area and the insurgents suffered casualties, he added.

Rahimullah, a resident of Qayaq area where the incident happened, said that besides the police chief, three policemen were also killed in the explosion.

Taliban did not comment on the incident so far.
