KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 570 policemen were referred to judicial organs on charges of extortion, corruption and misuse of authority last year, the Ministry of Interior said on Thursday.
Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the ministry, said the police personnel were detained last year before being introduced to judicial organs.
He informed a department for internal security had been created to receive public complaints against police behaviour. Contact numbers of the department are 0202312354 and 0791230901.
