‘2,819 wagons of food, fuel imported recently’

KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 2,800 wagons of food, fuel and construction materials has been imported in the past 11 days to accommodate the primary needs during quarantine days, the Ministry of Transport said in a statement on Wednesday.

The materials that included 163.6 tonnes of commercial goods entered the country from Hairatan, Aqina and Torghondai Ports, the statement said.

The wagons were loaded with 49,000 tonnes of cooking oil, 18,000 tonnes of liquefied gas, 35,000 tonnes of wheat, 46,000 tonnes of flour, 2,000 tonnes of ghee, nearly 5,000 tonnes of non-food items and more than 6,000 tonnes of construction materials.

The ministry promised to ensure the supply of more food and non-food items to the people during the ongoing quarantine period.
