Exports to Afghanistan continue, says Iran

KABUL through the Milak border terminal in Sistan-Baluchestan province last month.

The Financial Times reported the main exports during the first month of the current solar year were cement, vegetables, gasoline and different kinds of foodstuff.

“Iran’s other crossings — Mahiroud and Dogharoun — have also opened for trade with Afghanistan.” A spokesman for Iran’s Customs Administration was quoted as saying.

Afghan traders could get business visas for traveling to Iran by air if they produce documentary proof that they are not infected with Covid-19. Truckers will need to submit proof of being virus-free.

Afghanistan accounted for 7.5 percent of Iran’s total exports during the first month of the current solar year, according to the newspaper.
