KABUL said on Saturday.

Deputy public health minister Dr. Wahidullah Majrooh told a press conference here that the lasted positive cases were detected among 1528 suspected patients during the period.

He said most of the new positive cases emerged in Kabul where 377 people were tested positive for the disease, with the total number of cases reaching 9998 nationwide.

He said so far 1040 people had recovered from the disease and another 216 lost their battle for life.

Among the latest cases, the highest number (377) was recorded in Kabul, 150 in Herat, 49 in Balkh, 48 in Ghazni, 32 in Nangarhar, 28 in Pktia, 21 in Samangan, 12 each in Logar, Paktia and Baghlan, 11 in Kapisa, 10 in Kunar, six in Laghman and four each in Badghis, Ghor, Farah and three in Takhar province.

Dr. Majrooh warned that coronavirus cases were on rapid increase in the country and people did not observe precautions, a human crisis was feared.
