22 suspected criminals arrested in Kabul: police

KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty-two suspects have been arrested in connection with different criminal cases over the past two days in capital Kabul, an official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Faramarz Ferdos told Pajhwok Afghan News the suspects were detained in separate operations in areas of 3rd, 5th, 7th, 13th, 17th Police Districts and Bagrami district of Kabul in past two days.

He claimed the detainees were involved murder, vehicle robbery, number plate theft and transfer of weapons.

Criminal offences, including murder, have increased in Kabul in recent years, sparking concerns among residents.

Ahmad Javed, a resident of Taimani area, told Pajhwok: “Innocent people are being killed every day in Kabul.” The suspects who were being detained should not be released but punished.
